Rachel has been a teacher of the Deaf/hard of hearing for Fairfax County Public Schools for the past 12 years.  She currently shares her time between 4 different schools and serves ages 2-22.  Her area of interest is multiply disabled children.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Rachel was a nanny for several families over the course of 8 summers.  While the families wanted the children to catch up on school related skills over the summer, the children did not want to do school work.  Rachel developed creative activities to incorporate both fun and learning to keep up a positive rapport with both the children and the parents.

Rachel's favorite hobby is theater. After performing in over 30 plays and musicals, she founded a summer theater company in Danbury, CT.  She spent 4 summers directing and producing musicals that involved both children and adults.

Rachel moved to Montclair in May of 2013 with her husband and two children ages 5 and 21 months.  She is excited to meet the families in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Making the decision to leave your child with a caregiver is very difficult.  When visiting the home, please ask to see Rachel's clean criminal record, CPR certification, teaching license, child abuse/neglect training certificate, and training certificate from the Department of Social Services.  Also note that there is an open-door policy.  After your child is enrolled, please feel free to drop during daycare/parents-night-out hours unannounced.
